House Church at the Mckinley's


THURSDAY, 21 JUNE 2007

On Sunday we were invited to an open air Church service. We met the McKinley family and their family from Ohio had travelled there just to meet us. That is very humbling, we were delighted to meet you. We went with the McDermotts, who house church with these folk. They had a beautiful home in the woods hand made with love!
It really was a blessing to be told that they had looked forward to our visit and we were made so very welcome. They celebrated Father's day here on that Sunday and all the Fathers there got a gift....Thank you! We were interrupted by some loud thunder and a short rain shower...yep, you knew we'd go and stand out in it to cool off! The McDermotts must have had a hard time with us 'moaning' English....we were struggling with heat exhaustion only to be told that it is only just getting warm!! Anyway we had a good week in Missouri, and even found, thanks to Jim's directions, a New/Used Christian book, cd, video, homeschool curriculum, store. We spent ages in there (free drinks served too and AIR CONDITIONING!!!!) We had to be very careful as we could have bought so many great books, but getting them back on the plane is always in the back of our minds.
